Track of the Day: New Jack Hustler by El Chino

Today we have a new one from House Gangster, El Chino. It comes from a label I have taken liking to over the last year and a half called I'm a House Gangster. "New Jack Hustler" is a great track that honestly brings the mix this week completely full circle. I started the week with some Chicago style jackin' house music from Chemical Surf's remix of "Rimshot" by Cristoph. Moved into some more bass heavy warehouse type music and then settled back into a little house groove. With "New Jack Hustler" El Chino pays homage to one of house musics most prolific figures: Jack. In a terribly unfortunate turn of events it appears Jack has finally housed it too hard!! Some good stuff here.As you might have guessed from the name "El Chino" the man behind today's track has his roots in China. Born in China, El Chino aka Ken Fan spent most of his childhood in the UK. He was a major component of the Birmingham club scene and has had a lot of influence from DJ Sneak who is responsible for his nickname. El Chino has taken some time away from the scene recently to gain a different perspective on things and how he might better contribute to the culture that is house music. I would have to say he has gained some pretty good insight and he has my attention. As does the entire I'm A House Gangster label.
