Today we have a fantastic remix from Cologne-based DJ duo, production outfit, and live act Hidden Empire. This morning Microtrauma released their latest EP on Einmusika’s sublabel Ein2 which features a remarkable contribution from Hidden Empire. Their remix of ‘Vona’, the new EP’s title track, is nothing short of a 7 minute adventure of melodic hypnosis. ‘Vona (Hidden Empire Remix)’ is a dark and moody techno track that features a throbbing bassline and tight percussion. The track’s highlight, however, is the stunning arpeggio piece during the breakdown. The synths build up to a subtle, understated beat drop that almost passes by unnoticed. But when that kick falls back in you can feel the power behind it. In 2015 Oliver Koletzki took note of their work and pegged them for a remix of ‘Ipuza’ on his Iyewaye remix package. Since then the been on a bit of a roll with 2 full EP’s out on Koletzki’s Stil Vor Talent as well as releases on Traum, Filth on Acid, and more recently Suara. Hidden Empire have been steadily climbing Beatport’s Techno charts this year. with a ‘Get Lost’, out in March on Stil Vor Talent, peaking at #12 on the Top 100 Techno tracks while ‘Colours Of Black’, out in June on Suara, reached #23.
