Track of the Day: Lehar - Magical Realism

The title track, ‘Magical Realism’, is the perfect blending of electronica and tech house. While the track opens with a low-key, almost muted chord progression over a strong kick, it quickly introduces a subtle vocal track and deep bassline that come together to create a sound that transcends the sum of its parts. When you have made it onto someone like Solomun’s radar, you know you are doing it right. Until recently Lehar has been primarily known for his work with Connosieur Records, a label run by Alex and Hillary Flitsch out of Offenbach. Connosieur released Lehar’s debut EP, ‘Sargas EP’, back in 2014. ‘Sargas EP’ featured an absolutely massive remix of the title track by Mario Basanov that Edu Imbernon used to open his 2015 Ibiza Sonica set at BPM. Since then the Italian producer has been dropping jaws around the world. Lehar has also been a force on Beatport’s electronica charts with several tracks cracking the top 10. A few of those include his remix of Ost & Kjex’s ‘Easy’ which hit #1, his remix of Sasse’s ‘Ani’ from My Favorite Robot Records, as well as ‘Magical Realism’, which reached #2.
