LAMP Weekly Mix -- Frankie KnucklesThe music world was shocked and saddened by the loss of the legendary Frankie Knuckles earlier this week. Normally here we put together a fresh new mix each week. In honor of the greatness that was Frankie Knuckles I have decided to give everyone a taste of what this dude was all about. To put it simply he was the embodiment of what pure house music is and always will be. The man was a pioneer and innovator in the disco and house scene throughout the 70's and 80's and well on from that as many of you all know. He made some of the biggest dancefloor fillers that dj's and producers are still dropping and remixing left and right. The mix up above is from an essential mix he made back in 2000. I can tell you with 100% confidence this is the shit. I actually remember listening to this mix live back in the day like i did every week back then streaming BBC into my Dorm room every Saturday afternoon.
