LAMP PREMIERE: Nick Garcia & Cabrillo - Raise My Spirit [House Cookin’ Records]
What’s up LAMP fam! It’s premiere time again. Today we have a new release from a couple of LAMP Alumni. Nick Garcia and Cabrillo have come together for the title track this two track EP from Garcia set to release tomorrow on the renowned Belgian label House Cookin’ Records. The two have been a big part of our label over the years and I was very excited to see the two came together to collaborate for Raise My Spirit on this New EP from Garcia. Nick Garcia has been on a hot streak in 2021 with a huge release on Simma Black, and others on Understated Records and Deep Root Records. Cabrillo is also coming off a hot release earlier this year along with Niles Shepard. Make sure to give them both a further look if you are just discovering these two incredibly talented artists.
Ok lets get to talking about this track!!! As I mentioned before this is the A-side and title track. I mean all you really need to know is stated right there in the title, Raise My Spirit. Garcia & Cabrillo bring us an uplifting soulful house jam that will do just that. Everything about this track lifts you up and has such an appealing nature to it. RIght from the start I was drawn into the stabby lead synth that has an air of a Daft Punk vibe to it. Some choppy vocals come in underneath that are accompanied by a very bright and soulful lead vocal that really get the track moving. Rounding everything out and really tying this whole piece together are the dreamiest of pads that effortlessly come and go throughout the track with a super funky bassline rolling through the song being the icing on the cake.
