LAMP Premier: Chris Patrick - In Tha Kitchen [Soup NYC]

I have some more new music to share with you from the SOUP NYC label. Last October I was walking from one stage to another at Dirtybird Campout and by chance I got to meet the producer behind today's premier Chris Patrick. He is a major contributor to the label as a resident DJ for their SOUP branded parties. Additionally he handles A&R duties making sure the label has plenty of high caliber productions to put out. Switching to yet another hat with '2 Tha Face' Chris puts his producer hat on and delivers three new tracks with this EP which is accompanied by a remix of the title track from Deluxed. Set for release this Friday you can grab your copy here: https://www.beatport.com/label/soup/54252'In Tha Kitchen' is the focus of our premier. A raw and boomy house track paired with the vocal sample the songs title is derived from. My rap game is not strong at all so I couldn't tell you where it came from or if its an original but I like it. The rolling bass line is so huge and wonky and really fills the room. I would love this song if it just put in the bridge and came back and repeated the first verse over again like many popular songs. Instead Patrick ups the game and strips back the first verse keeping the epic rolling bass line and adds a dope arpeggio that is very reminiscent of some Underworld/ Kraftwerk stuff from back in the day. I was immediately hooked as it was wildly unexpected but a welcomed change that works extremely well without being a total curveball. This is a really fun EP make sure to get your hands on it this friday and you can learn more at the links below.CHRIS PATRICK SOCIALShttps://soundcloud.com/chrispatrickhttps://www.facebook.com/chrispatrickdjhttps://twitter.com/chris_patrick https://www.instagram.com/chris_patrickSOUP NYC SOCIALShttps://soundcloud.com/soupnyc https://www.instagram.com/soupnyc/https://www.facebook.com/SoupNyc
